Taylors Bayou Excavation at Hwy 124 Bridge – Ditch 500
The Highway 124 bridge was recently lengthened over Taylor Bayou, and the purpose of this project in the Taylor Bayou watershed, is to widen the bayou on each side of the bridge to improve the conveyance of the system.
This is the final project of the various improvements that were recommended in the Taylor Bayou Study from 2001.

Channel improvements and a detention basin are being constructed to improve the conveyance of the system and to add storage volume.

Borley Heights Relief Project – Ditch 1002-B

This project in the Pine Island Bayou watershed is to serve the Borley Heights neighborhood in the north end of Beaumont by adding three LNVA crossings at the ends of Lewis Dr., Click Dr., and Scotts Dr., along with upgrading the existing crossing near Hurley Dr.  These crossings will more efficiently convey water from the east side of the canal to the west side, where a new channel and an enlarged existing channel will receive the additional flows and move the water to Ditch 1002.

South Nome Relief – Ditch 804-D
FEMA Grant administered by TDEM (HMGP)

A combination of channel improvements and LNVA crossing improvements are being utilized to improve drainage within south Nome and redirect water from Hwy 365 to a 53-acre detention basin that will reduce flows downstream.
